First, any "person" who has to resort to harassment as an attempted means or
romance or seduction has obviously not learned much.
Second, sexual orientation cracks are equally pointless. For example, the
common instances of guys who've been shot down calling the lady who did so a
lesbian, or derogatory term for such. Ooh. *That's* going to impress her
into going out with you/paying attention to you. If the lady under abuse does
indeed feel more comfortable with ladies than men, that is her perogative, and

To the ladies: Many of the gentlemen here and in other areas agree with your
posts regarding N.P's obvious social difficulties. Please accept our apologies
for the most obvious mistake that was made in allowing his gene scan to pass.
We were having a bad day and the machinery was reset to the widest possible
scale in order to keep production up.
There is a recall in effect.
In truth, there is a serious question when insults and leading posts start to
be left on BBS's. With the current (and very valid) concern regarding the use
of BBS's by pedophiles to locate and attract suggestible younsters, it is a
serious question of what role a BBS takes in the problem. Simply saying,
"well, I only provide the medium, not the message" just does not cut it any
more. Knowing that a Sysop has the option of checking mail, deleting offensive
posts or contacting the "authorities" if threats or harrassing posts show up
gives an impetus to head these things off at the lowest level possible.
If the ladies on the BBS or a net are concerned enough to reply as they did,
particularly in the case of a mother and daughter, then a Sysop and everyone
else should be seriously concerned. "accessory" is a serious charge in civil
or criminal actions.
That's the end of my diatribe for today. It's good to be back.
(Oh, and yes. I too have left "suggestive" posts. But I am also very careful
to ensure that the lady receiving it will either have a good laugh, or has
already given me license to proceed. I have left a "suggestive" post for a
minor once, having also joked with her about a subject and made damn sure that

I am 16 years old, and that happened up here, (the Prison thing) the
saddest thing is that he had his brother smash the windsheild on my sister's
car, AND he had the tire slashed. what I truely hate about that whole thing,
is that he said that he wanted to get every one of us "taken care of" and
well, so far nothing has happend, and I don't believe it will, he's just
talk.
as for the people harassing other people over the board, unless they have
your Phone number, it's nothing important, I see it happening all the time

By calling the original poster's comment about Bubbas in prison "homophobic",
people are missing a very important point: Rape is an expression of violence,
not sex. Don't be under the illusion that because sex is the weapon for
degradation and power that it's an expression of sexuality. In prison
situations, much of the rape is committed by otherwise completely heterosexual
men who use sexual assault as a means of establishing a power structure.
Homophobia has no place in a civilized society, and if I see a message I view
as homophobic (or sexist or racist), I jump right in there with others to try
to show the poster how ridiculous their views are. However, I didn't see any
homophobia in the "Bubbas in prison" post. What I saw was someone who was
frustrated, and wanting to see the recipient of the post go through the
degradation and humalitation pedophiles put their victims through. An eye for
an eye, in other words. While I can understand the anger and frustration
(pedophiles see themselves as doing nothing wrong, and therefore often don't
respond to counselling), I can't agree with that punishment. Like capital
punishment for murder, once it's done, there's no taking it back. As long as
it's possible for innocent people to be convicted, the only punishment we
should mete out is imprisonment. While the lost time can't be recovered, at
least financial reparations are easier to make if the person turns out to be
innocent. Murderers and pedophiles should be locked away for life though, with
no parole.
Remember, rape isn't sexual, it's an act of violence.

I don't know what the average age is up here. My own is a bright and cheerful
44 years young. The remainder I would suspect are about 12-13 years from the
level of conversation at times.
So, what's going on down there? I recently saw an advertisement for an 82'
cruiser laid up in the vicinity of Miami, looked like a winner to me. It's
very tempting to just say, to heck with it, and head down your way. Been along
the coast, Cocoa Beach and the Cape, stayed with a friend in Orlando area, and
passed through Tampa (McDill AFB) a few years ago. Enjoyed the time spent down
there. Even the heat too!

It's also sometimes a result of miscommunication and misunderstanding.

Apparently you weren't paying attention, or perhaps JBS just didn't explain
it with small enough words. The world sucks because of human nature. Those
who don't think so are generally self-centered types who can't see beyond
their [relatively] tiny groups of friends. The world is not a good place and
I'm not going to waste space telling you why. What I do want to point out is
our philosphy. We have no desire to improve the world. We feel the world is

LINDA- I caught on to Jim about 3 posts ago. He sounded so much like my

Can you blame me? In that post, you reposted some of my typos, and then, in
the next line, without giving any indication that you were going on to a new
or seperate idea, posted about how I would enjoy prison. You* linked the two
together, by not seperating them. Although, I now see what you were doing. I
will admit, I mistook one of your mistakes for another. It was not a fault in
your reasoning, it was a fault in your composition.

You say I don't argue logically, but I always I have. I've always supported
my claims, and backed up insults with reasons. I've yet to resort to slightly
amusing analogies, but I wil now, as you've picked a good one. We here see you
in the same way you see me, as the player who throws the cards and laughs. I
will point out a flaw in your argument, and then I recieve four or five posts
saying that I would enjoy Bubba, or that I'm not getting any. I have noticed
many others on the DC side of the net slinging unwarranted claims, and I wish
to not be grouped with them. I've slung a few insults, yes, and laughed a lot,
yes, but always with reason. Insults must be used carefully if they are going
to work, and always with a reason. If I claim you are pathetic, chances are
I've either just explained why, or am about to explain why I think that. And I
don't consider myself losing, therefore I wouldn't throw the cards around. The
insults will stop when you start arguing rationally, but I don't see that
happening, as you've all begun to decide to ignore us. Well, fine, that to me

grammar is to be understood. Case in point: The first quotation I used from
you. I had to read that sentence four times to figure out what you meant by
it. After realizing a comma should have been between the word "point" and the
word "for." It may be one little character, but it would have kept your post
from reading like gibberish. When speaking, grammar doesn't matter too much,
as tone of voice and stresses will often clear up any misunderstandings.
(e.g., if you'd spoken that sentence aloud, I probably would have known
exactly what was being said, as you would have paused between "point" and
"for," and you'd have probably put stress on the "for.") But, in a written
medium, we don't have the luxury of hearing the writer speak his words.
Therefore, good grammar is a necessity if you want to be understood.

Have you been reading the same posts I've been typing? Life sucks, and so
I've decided to go along with it and get all the kicks I can along the way.

Sooo...where to start...
Let's start with a post I had written to Serena and WLW earlier in which I
mentioned that you were just playing a silly game.
Your response to that was:

You see Jim, I LOVE to write. It's a passion for me, and I write for a

Sometimes I write just because it's rehabilitative. Sometimes it helps me on
issues of introspection, and sometimes it helps me to think about a subject
with my own thoughts available in front of me. I often write treatises that
are tens of thousands of bytes in length just to write and think, knowing full
well that I am not writing for any audience, and that it will probably never
be seen or read by anyone else.
Sometimes I write to teach. I know a bit about computer hardware, I/O
management, video graphics systems including hardware, software, image formats
and the like, assembly language programming, electronics, and junk like that.
And when somebody has a problem in these areas, I love to share my knowledge
with them.
Sometimes I write on political morals and ethics. I consider myself a left
wing liberal, so most of that writing focuses around human rights issues, and
I especially enjoy writing about gay & lesbian issues. I've even been
published. Nothing major, mind you, just places like newspaper editorials and
national newsletters for certain special interest groups. But that's enough to
keep me happy for now.
Sometimes I just like to banter with other users on the BBS just for the
social interaction. Personalities emerge, and cyber-friendships and social
groups develop. Sometimes these even lead to personal meetings and real
friendships. I even met my girlfriend 7 years ago on a BBS.
And of course, I sometimes write because it allows me to vent my
frustrations on anonymous, faceless creatures who demonstrate the worst traits
that humanity has to offer such as "those" of you at DC.
So DC is kind of like a dartboard for me; just something to take potshots at
whenever I feel like it.
While this results in many DC attacks upon me and my writing, it means
nothing. You are just as compelled to fling garbage as maggots are to eat it,
so receiving insults from a cracker is just as empty and meaningless as
receiving praise from an ass-kisser.
I have been described by one UNI as a "prudish, perfume-soaked hag". Another
proclaims that I must be "about 10 yeras(sic) old", "really stupid", "have
some type of mental retardation", or "all the above." Still another tells me
that I "sound like a slut", while still yet another estimates my "mental
growth at around age 17."
Even you yourself have used such intriguing terms against me such as
"malinformed" (a very innovative word, if nothing else) and a "complete ass."
And we mustn't forget my VERY favorite, where you said I have a "small boiled
potato of a brain."
Hee hee! I haven't heard anything like THAT since my sandbox days!
In any event, dear, these insults tell me that my writing is hitting the
proper targets, and achieving the proper results. I am irritating the great
irritators.

expectations of writing, your writing hasn't come anywhere near your one

Now on the subject of "logic", you wrote:

the form of "If a=b and b=c then a=c".

However, it is bad logic since it utilizes one of the most common errors
that novices such as yourself often make, which is mistaking assumptions for

While the premise that Jim Bexley is of this world may be a demonstrable
fact, the premise that "this world really sucks" is not. It is an abstract
concept which cannot be proven (unless, of course, the terms "this world" and
"sucks" can be explicitly defined). So since at least one of the premises used
in the argument cannot be proven, then the conclusion itself loses it's proof,
and thus it's validity.
Therefore, while the conclusion that "Jim Bexley really sucks" sounds true,
and may in fact be true, it cannot actually be proven with the aforementioned
premises.
Now as I mentioned before, I will point out an example of where you
attempted to "argue logically". I will also explain why it was bad logic.
On Mar 20 at 12:47am, you tried (for whatever reason!?) to prove that Serena
had somehow called rednecks homosexuals, when in fact, she said no such thing.
First, let's cut through all the extraneous text of your post and set up
your argument in an orderly, readable fashion.
For premise #1, you wrote:

been, and will remain, held away from women for long periods of time. Some of
these men will "take a wife" (sometimes by coercion or force, sometimes by
mutual consent), usually (but not always) from among the
smaller/younger/smoother prison population, for the purpose of relieving their
sexual tensions. This relief is manifested in any number of ways ranging from
manual stimulation to oral and/or anal copulation. There are sociological
arguments as to whether these men are actually homosexual, or whether they are
heterosexual men who engage in "situational" homosexuality.
For now, I think we can skip past these arguments and just assume for the
sake of THIS argument the trite and shallow definition that any men who engage
in any homosexual activity may be deemed as "homosexual".
So let's present this concept as a well constructed premise:

And as for your conclusion:

So since I will concur with premise #2, you may consider it proved.
However, YOU are the one that said 'Bubba' means redneck. But just because
you figure that 'Bubbas' are, or probably ought to be, 'rednecks' does not
mean you can prove that ALL of them actually are.
In fact, you CAN'T prove it. The reason you can't is because I can DISPROVE
it. You see, OUR Bubba is no redneck. He's just a lowbrow goon with just
enough of an IQ to register on the charts. Poor lil' Bubba. He's such a nice
boy. Usually.
Ah well...anyway, since premise #1 is an assumption which obviously cannot
be proven, then premise #2 is moot, and your conclusion is rendered invalid.

equivalent to your previous argument to show you just how ludicrous it looks

going to post it in a public room, and are asking for constructive criticism,
I'll give you some. I, too, am a poet. I've had some things published, and
whatnot. Personally, I think that your poetry is very cliche. It is overdone,
and full of repetition. Not even repition in a good sense, as in Edgar Allen
Poe's "The Bells". No, it just gets annoying, as opposed to being a refrain.
You use terms and phrases that are so clche...Lord, the only word I can think
of to describe it is CLICHE. You attempt to conjure up images of a passionate
encounter, but instead it sounds more like a bad Pat Booth novel.
If you all are so damned anxious to get this room back to discussing sex in
the 90's, have Rebcca knock it off with her "poetry", have Linda get over
whatever childish hangup she has with us now, and get people to discuss it.
Find a topic. You're all a bunch of weenies if you're going to sit around a

Well, that's a bloody easy one. Did I say "If you keep responding, you're an

In the second bit, It should also be obvious that I did not say you were
stupid if you didn't respond, but that just giving up and ignoring us because
we say things you don't want to hear is* stupid.
#7: That typos post
Well, then let me show you how I interpreted it.
You said jail would be fun for "someone like (me)." This came immediately
after the reposting of my famous typos. Now, at that point, that was about
the only post you could have been referring to, so I figured the "someone like
(me)" was related to the phrase you had quoted me on. Now, you* may see my
mental state as wrong (although, by now you ought to know I don't care whether
you are a child or an adult or something in between, you are solely there to
entertain me* in any way I see fit) I DO NOT. And so, the only thing that
seemed to be wrong in my post was my typos. So, I concluded that you were
linking the reason I would enjoy being in jail with the fact that I'm still
not used to my new keyboard. Which, as you ought to know, wouldn't make much
sense, and was why I figured the post as some sort of half-hearted attempt at
insulting me which went horribly wrong.
So now, my you see my contradictions are not contradictions, my logic is not
illogical, and my interpretation of English is just fine. There was a bit of
misunderstanding in that you did not yet know that I had truly meant what I
said about the inherent humor is sending sick mail to little girls, but that
seems to have been cleared up. Care to spend another 300-plus lines doing
nothing but looking silly?
