First, any "person" who has to resort to harassment as an attempted means or
romance or seduction has obviously not learned much.
Second, sexual orientation cracks are equally pointless. For example, the
common instances of guys who've been shot down calling the lady who did so a
lesbian, or derogatory term for such. Ooh. *That's* going to impress her
into going out with you/paying attention to you. If the lady under abuse does
indeed feel more comfortable with ladies than men, that is her perogative, and

To the ladies: Many of the gentlemen here and in other areas agree with your
posts regarding N.P's obvious social difficulties. Please accept our apologies
for the most obvious mistake that was made in allowing his gene scan to pass.
We were having a bad day and the machinery was reset to the widest possible
scale in order to keep production up.
There is a recall in effect.
In truth, there is a serious question when insults and leading posts start to
be left on BBS's. With the current (and very valid) concern regarding the use
of BBS's by pedophiles to locate and attract suggestible younsters, it is a
serious question of what role a BBS takes in the problem. Simply saying,
"well, I only provide the medium, not the message" just does not cut it any
more. Knowing that a Sysop has the option of checking mail, deleting offensive
posts or contacting the "authorities" if threats or harrassing posts show up
gives an impetus to head these things off at the lowest level possible.
If the ladies on the BBS or a net are concerned enough to reply as they did,
particularly in the case of a mother and daughter, then a Sysop and everyone
else should be seriously concerned. "accessory" is a serious charge in civil
or criminal actions.
That's the end of my diatribe for today. It's good to be back.
(Oh, and yes. I too have left "suggestive" posts. But I am also very careful
to ensure that the lady receiving it will either have a good laugh, or has
already given me license to proceed. I have left a "suggestive" post for a
minor once, having also joked with her about a subject and made damn sure that

I am 16 years old, and that happened up here, (the Prison thing) the
saddest thing is that he had his brother smash the windsheild on my sister's
car, AND he had the tire slashed. what I truely hate about that whole thing,
is that he said that he wanted to get every one of us "taken care of" and
well, so far nothing has happend, and I don't believe it will, he's just
talk.
as for the people harassing other people over the board, unless they have
your Phone number, it's nothing important, I see it happening all the time

By calling the original poster's comment about Bubbas in prison "homophobic",
people are missing a very important point: Rape is an expression of violence,
not sex. Don't be under the illusion that because sex is the weapon for
degradation and power that it's an expression of sexuality. In prison
situations, much of the rape is committed by otherwise completely heterosexual
men who use sexual assault as a means of establishing a power structure.
Homophobia has no place in a civilized society, and if I see a message I view
as homophobic (or sexist or racist), I jump right in there with others to try
to show the poster how ridiculous their views are. However, I didn't see any
homophobia in the "Bubbas in prison" post. What I saw was someone who was
frustrated, and wanting to see the recipient of the post go through the
degradation and humalitation pedophiles put their victims through. An eye for
an eye, in other words. While I can understand the anger and frustration
(pedophiles see themselves as doing nothing wrong, and therefore often don't
respond to counselling), I can't agree with that punishment. Like capital
punishment for murder, once it's done, there's no taking it back. As long as
it's possible for innocent people to be convicted, the only punishment we
should mete out is imprisonment. While the lost time can't be recovered, at
least financial reparations are easier to make if the person turns out to be
innocent. Murderers and pedophiles should be locked away for life though, with
no parole.
Remember, rape isn't sexual, it's an act of violence.

I don't know what the average age is up here. My own is a bright and cheerful
44 years young. The remainder I would suspect are about 12-13 years from the
level of conversation at times.
So, what's going on down there? I recently saw an advertisement for an 82'
cruiser laid up in the vicinity of Miami, looked like a winner to me. It's
very tempting to just say, to heck with it, and head down your way. Been along
the coast, Cocoa Beach and the Cape, stayed with a friend in Orlando area, and
passed through Tampa (McDill AFB) a few years ago. Enjoyed the time spent down
there. Even the heat too!

It's also sometimes a result of miscommunication and misunderstanding.

Apparently you weren't paying attention, or perhaps JBS just didn't explain
it with small enough words. The world sucks because of human nature. Those
who don't think so are generally self-centered types who can't see beyond
their [relatively] tiny groups of friends. The world is not a good place and
I'm not going to waste space telling you why. What I do want to point out is
our philosphy. We have no desire to improve the world. We feel the world is

equating his "typos" with the possibility that he would enjoy being in jail.
Nobody could POSSIBLY be so stupid as to think I was saying that, so it is

try to get around it by coming up with some kind of gibberish that he figured
he could berate me for.
I don't know if he's just playing some silly game, or whether he just
doesn't have the capability of arguing logically, but he reminds of a kid who
gets frustrated because he's always losing at some card game, so instead of
learning the game better, he prefers to frustrate the other players by
throwing all the cards up in the air and laughing about it.
Anyway, I strongly suspect that there aren't as many of "them" as "they"
would like you to think. "They" sound remarkably similar to the idiot(s) at a
BBS called "Backfence" (ALSO in Minnesota! Hmmm...GOTTA be something in the
water there!). Anyway, Backfence had one or two guys there that logged on
under about 5 or 10 different names, and he/each would get his rocks off by
posting lots of hateful and stupid messages under his different identities and
also post congratulatory messages about his brilliance to himself under his
various names. So just 1 or 2 guys looked (at first glance) to be a whole
group of people, just like "these guys" here.
So have a Cookie for lunch! Don't swallow any of it, just chew it up and
spit it out! ;-)

LINDA- I caught on to Jim about 3 posts ago. He sounded so much like my
teenage daughter that I had to laugh. I dont argue with my own and since I
cant send him to his room ;), I decided to just ignore him. I have seen some
remarkable similarities in the posts of certain ones at certain sites. There
again its the nature of children to want more than they are allowed. Thanks

all. I've run across this sort of thing before and have found it more amusing
than anything. It is my experience that if there's no response, eventually
this sort of person get's tired and goes off to find something else to amuse
him/her elf with. (Usually annoying someone else that reacts to their
silliness.) Besides, I have enough negitivity in my life to deal with more
from people I don't know and don't care about. It has been my experience that
people that who believe the world is such an awful place tend to have a harder
time of it. They tend to creat their own problems with their bad attitudes
and then point to those experiences as examples of how right they are. All in
all, you get what you give.

Can you blame me? In that post, you reposted some of my typos, and then, in
the next line, without giving any indication that you were going on to a new
or seperate idea, posted about how I would enjoy prison. You* linked the two
together, by not seperating them. Although, I now see what you were doing. I
will admit, I mistook one of your mistakes for another. It was not a fault in
your reasoning, it was a fault in your composition.

It is* a game, but not a silly one. Besides, you continue to participate, so
you must not think it that* silly. I like arguing. I like arguments. And this
one is by far the best argument I've seen in years.
You say I don't argue logically, but I always I have. I've always supported
my claims, and backed up insults with reasons. I've yet to resort to slightly
amusing analogies, but I wil now, as you've picked a good one. We here see you
in the same way you see me, as the player who throws the cards and laughs. I
will point out a flaw in your argument, and then I recieve four or five posts
saying that I would enjoy Bubba, or that I'm not getting any. I have noticed
many others on the DC side of the net slinging unwarranted claims, and I wish
to not be grouped with them. I've slung a few insults, yes, and laughed a lot,
yes, but always with reason. Insults must be used carefully if they are going
to work, and always with a reason. If I claim you are pathetic, chances are
I've either just explained why, or am about to explain why I think that. And I
don't consider myself losing, therefore I wouldn't throw the cards around. The
insults will stop when you start arguing rationally, but I don't see that
happening, as you've all begun to decide to ignore us. Well, fine, that to me
sounds like the little kid who hears something he doesn't want to, so he plugs
his ears and begins to loudly sing "I'm not listening! I can't hear you!"

statements covering opinions need to be qualified to be respected, so qualify
it. Tell us about you're journeys in Columbia with the repressed victims
between government and drugs. Tell us about the time you spent in Europe

the depletion of our natural resources, and how you are working to correct the
